MED 441 Course

  • It teaches medicine for final year medical students.  They will be attached to the consultant and his team for two months
  • Teaching rounds on patients
  • Students are required to attend clinics with the consultant (Saturday morning and Tue afternoon)
  • Students are required to follow patients' assigned to them
  • Students are required to attend departmental and unit academic and teaching activities
  • Lectures given by me: Pulmonary embolism for four groups of students

During the 341-Medicine course, students are expected to achieve a basic degree of      competence in diagnosis, and to develop familiarity with management, focusing on problems requiring in-patient care.  In the 441-Medicine course, diagnostic skills should be further enhanced, competence in management deepened, and the range of problems and illnesses dealt with are broadened to include the ambulatory and the emergency domains. These objectives will be realized by changing the current design of the course that focuses mainly on the theoretical knowledge of the student with a passive role played in the clinical care of patients
