This course covers the foundations of finance with an emphasis on applications that are vital for corporate managers. The goals of the course are to examine the role of finance in supporting the functional areas of a firm and to foster an understanding of how financial decisions themselves can create value. Topics include overview of basic financial analysis, major financial decisions made by corporate managers, the process of valuation, criteria for making investment decisions, valuation of financial assets, relationships between risk and return, risk management, capital structure choice.
