NURS 418 Community Health Nursing

This course introduces students to become competent to acquire specific theory and practice related to community health nursing. Special emphasis is placed on theoretical concepts related to health promotion, risk reduction and disease prevention. This course allows students to work independently providing and improving health care to individuals, families and groups in the community. It gives students opportunity to apply community assessment process, utilize the nursing process, apply the disease prevention strategies and apply the nursing roles and activities based on clients who differ in terms of age, developmental stage, health beliefs values and practices. It also allows students to demonstrate the management and safety of client, family, and community care through appropriate use of concepts of leadership, case management, and appropriate communication.
