نبذة تعريفية / مختصر السيرة الذاتية

Welcome to my website, I appreciate the time you will spend browsing my site. Allow me to introduce myself.
First of all I thank  ALLAH  my God for giving me so much throughout my life. I thank my father and mother for all the care and support they gave and give me till now. May ALLAH bless them.

My school study years and beginnings of the light of education started in my home city Hergla on the beaches of the Mediterranean Sea at the hands of dedicated Teachers to whom I will always be grateful. Finishing high school in lycée de garçons de sousse, Tunisia, I have joined

  • Faculty of Sciences of Tunis, Tunisia to learn and explore knowledge. I was granted B.Sc. in Computer Science and Information Systems, June 1991
  • Both my M. Sc. and Ph.D. in Computer Science,  followed in the University of Tokushima, Japan, March 1995 and May 1999 respectively
  • I worked as Assistant Researcher at the Department of Optical Science at University of Tokushima, Japan from April 1996-June 1999
  • At UAE University, Al-Ain, I worked as Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science from September 1999 ~ August 2001
  • At University of Sharjah, UAE, I worked as Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science from September 2001 ~August 2010
  • I'm currently an Associate Professor at King Saud University, Computer Science Department, Distinguished faculty members program

Throughout this elaborate journey around the world, I have learned a great deal.

In Hergla, my home city, I was blessed with my older brother, Prof. Habib Sammouda, who was my role model. I have always looked up to him. He guided my career and my personality development. I will always be in his debt.

I have learned in Japan how to work hard, respect your professors and never give up. Discpline and continuous effort is the standard expected from students in Japan. I awe my Professor Noboru Niki much. He was my mentor and teacher, and I thank him greatly.

At United Arab Emirates, I have learned to be a professional educator and relentless researcher at higher education levels. I monitored student scucess and started an interest in academic accreditation. I learnt ABET principles of programs evaluation. I learnt about different arab nationalities, cultures and interests.

In Saudi Arabia, I was blessed to do Haj and Umra several times. I have achieved more prominence at teaching. I was given chances to develop research work through the NPST and KACST. Moreover, I was introduced to the concepts of local academic accreditation. The interconnection between international and national accreditation and Saudi Arabia's interest in competing with the best universities across the world developed a great deal of interest in me. I participated in both ABET accreditation achievement team and national accreditation teams for the Computer Science Department at my College of Computer and Information Sciences, King Saud University. I managed teams, learnt how to show effective communication and planning skills. I understand the role of evaluation in education, and that best practices achieve best results.

My several years of experience enriched me and I'm grateful to all who contributed to it, my family, my wife, my children, my friends and colleagues
