MATH 343 (Group Theory)

The main purpose for this course is to introduce:

1- Groups, subgroups, cyclic groups, normal subgroups, quotient groups, simple groups. 2- Lagrange’s theorem, Cayley’s theorem and its generalization, Cauchy’s theorem, Sylow’s theorems. 3- Group homomorphism, isomorphism, automorphism, and its applications. 4- Action of a group on a set. 5- Direct product of groups. 6- Classification of groups with small order according to isomorphisms
