Course Description
The course aims at training students to solve some of the problems which face the translator in both the source language (Arabic) and the target language (English). The course deals with a number of issues and problems related to translation such as literal versus free translation, the limits of the translator's freedom, the issue of equivalence between the two languages and the two cultures and the impact of that on the transfer of meaning, concepts and style of translation.
