DEH 241 – Introduction to dental hygiene

This course introduces students to the dental hygiene specialty, preoperative and preclinical dental hygiene concepts. Emphasis is placed on the duties and job description of the dental hygienists, introduction to the various tooth deposits and caries, as well as the theory of basic dental hygiene instruments. Upon completion, students should be familiar with the concept of dental hygiene, demonstrate knowledge of dental hygiene instruments, and will be ready to enter preclinical course
