This course provides clinical experience that assists students to develop expertise in caring complicated pregnancies and their fetus at risk. Emphasis is placed on perinatal nurse’s role in providing continuity of care to the high-risk pregnant mother and their fetus. A family centered orientation is stressed and theoretical models for the study of high-risk family and development of nursing practice are examined and utilized in caregiving.
