د. مشاعل الجمعة Masheal Aljumaah PhD

I’m an Assistant Professor of Microbiology at King Saud University. My research explores how the gut microbiome influences cognitive and metabolic health, focusing on microbial DPP-4 enzymes and host–microbe interactions. I earned my Ph.D. from North Carolina State University in collaboration with UNC-Chapel Hill, and my work has been published in journals such as Science Advances, Clinical Nutrition, and Advances in Nutrition. Over nearly a decade in microbiome research, I’ve worked across human, animal, and food systems—combining benchwork, bioinformatics, and scientific writing to advance understanding of the microbiome’s role in health.
