ARCH353 Principles of Urban Design

Purpose of the course

To give students an introductory knowledge about urban design from the view point of historical, cultural progression stepping to the new modern concepts of the present. The focus is to understand the principles that explain the elements of urban design and its applications in the design process.

والغرض من البرنامج الدراسي لإعطاء الطلاب معرفة استهلالي حول التصميم الحضري من وجهة نظر التقدم التاريخية والثقافية يخطو إلى المفاهيم الحديثة الجديدة في الوقت الحاضر.وينصب على فهم المبادئ التي توضح عناصر التصميم الحضري وتطبيقاتها في عملية التصميم.

Course Description

The course considers both the simple evolution of the historical beginning of the city and the ideas that led to the development of modern concepts of design of cities.
وتعتبر الدورة كلا تطور بسيط من البداية التاريخية للمدينة والأفكار التي أدت إلى تطوير المفاهيم الحديثة لتصميم المدن.

Topics of study will progress from the cultural, economical, or political influences, from the 19th -20th century. Students will also observe how modern cultural changes and new technological development  helped change the image of cities for the future.
وسوف تقدم مواضيع للدراسة من التأثيرات الثقافية أو الاقتصادية أو السياسية، من ال 19 القرن الحادي والعشرين. الطلاب سوف نلاحظ أيضا التغيرات الثقافية الحديثة كيف والتنمية التكنولوجية الجديدة ساعدت على تغيير صورة المدن في المستقبل.
