NUR 502: Health Care Delivery System

This course is designed to provide the student with an understanding of the structure and major components of healthcare delivery systems and their characteristics. Emphasis is on current problems in health care financing and delivery. Social, economic, and political forces that have shaped and continue to influence the system are traced. Particular attention is given to the planning for effective delivery of nursing services in future healthcare delivery systems. The United States and Canadian health care systems are compared with systems in developing nations. The analysis covers current trends in health care and prospects for the future.
