I am an Assistant Professor in Immunology at the Department of Zoology, College of Science, King Saud University. I obtained my PhD in 2023 from the Faculty of Health & Life Sciences, University of Liverpool, United Kingdom.
My research focuses on studying respiratory viruses and how respiratory epithelial cells interact with these viruses. Additionally, I investigate the immune response to viral infections in the host, particularly how the innate immune response reacts to viruses and its role in activating the adaptive immune response to eliminate the virus.
My research also explores the role of inflammatory cytokines in activating a wide range of immune cells, which in turn help stimulate the adaptive immune response, including T and B cells, leading to the production of virus-specific antibodies.
