Abstract:
This project aims to design of a real-time surveillance system for the intelligent monitoring of a warehouse. The goal of the system is to protect a warehouse from theft. The system will be composed of an IP camera mounted in a warehouse and connected to server over the internet.
We have developed a system to be mounted in a warehouse which needs to be protected from theft. The system is designed with the following features in mind:
- Store the video only when there is motion detected, thus saving bandwidth and storage space.
- Analyze the stored video that contains the motion and detect if it is a human intrusion or not. If it is a human intrusion, send an alert to security officers with video or image of the intrusion attached.
During this project we have carried out the following tasks: 1) Collection of system requirements from potential users. 2) Design and implement the GUI of the system, 3) Design and implement the module to detect humans in a scene and show an alert, 4) Implement and test the whole system, 4) Established a company for smart surveillance called Owl Surveillance Systems and built a website for it.
