Teaching is one of the most important professions of our time. Although it is true that it is ultimately up to the individual student how much he/she will take out of a class, it is the responsibility of the teacher to give every student the opportunity to do his/her best. Therefore, the lecturer has to appeal to different learning styles and keep an open mind to new teaching techniques. Consequently, the teacher himself will become a lifelong student, as he has to quickly adapt to the changing needs of his students. My ultimate goal as an instructor is not only to provide a broad knowledge base in my area of expertise, but furthermore to teach the young students the ability of critical thinking and to be a competent professional.
