Arch 250 – Architecture Design -1
The course aims to provide an understanding of the basics of the design process and architectural programming, as well as the ability to design a small residential project. The main objectives of the course are to identify key skills in design and organization and to develop abilities in drawing and critical thinking. Upon completion of the course, students will be able to recognize functional and spatial relationships between different design elements, critically analyze existing building designs as case studies and their own work, develop a site plan analysis, establish user objectives, and formulate design concepts. Additionally, they will be able to create innovative architectural and landscape design alternatives, demonstrate imaginative capabilities through three-dimensional models and spatial thinking, prepare creative and effective presentations, reports, and final projects, and manually draft architectural plans, elevations, sections, and site plans.
