Course Name :  Program Project Management

This course provides an introduction to management concepts, principles, techniques and terminology with particular reference to Information Systems (IS) Project Management (PM). It address issues such as planning, organization, resources, scheduling, control, quality, cost estimation and tools for project management. Project definition, responsibilities of project manager and project team, and project risk evaluation. 



Course Learning Outcomes:

1. Understand what is project management and its importance in completing projects
2. Understand project management in the context of software and IT project
3. Recognize the nine knowledge areas of project management
4. Recognize the triple constraint for project management
5. Recognize the importance of project scope management, time management, cost management, and quality management as core functions of project management.
6. Recognize the importance of human resource management, communications management, risk management, and procurement management as facilitating functions of project management.
7. Be able to utilize project management tools such as Gantt Charts, PERT charts, Critical Path Method, and Work Breakdown Structures Using project management software packages, specifically Microsoft Project
