Advanced Corporate Finance - FIN 531

This course is a continuation of the corporate finance course. The objective here is to provide students with the theories and applications of advanced concepts in corporate finance. On successful completion of this course, students should be able to understand the following concepts: the Cost of Capital and its estimation, capital structure in a perfect market and the propositions of Modigliani and Miller, financial distress, payout policy and its different forms, raising equity through IPOs and SEOs, debt financing, leasing, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. Cases will be assigned to students and discussed later in class to maximize synergy between theory and practice.
