نبذة تعريفية / مختصر السيرة الذاتية
During my career I have developed strong teaching, research and mentoring skills. As a researcher, I applied various modern aspects of mycology, biology and biotechnology, which helped in clarifying cell biology processes related to fungal identification, biodiversity of fungi, biotic stress tolerance and the possibility of using fungi to clean up the environment (bioremediation). The outcome of this research was the publication of many manuscripts in the front line journals. This consequently led to the renewal of funding for continued research. As well, I contributed my services to the field as a reviewer for a number of scientific journals, supervising graduate students and mentoring undergraduate students. I was also invited to give oral talks and seminars in various International meetings and academic institutes leading to high visibility in my field and active scientific collaboration.
With instructing and advising students is my interest; I taught biology-related courses for both graduate and undergraduate students (elaborated in the attached teaching philosophy). Class sizes ranged from small to extremely large (500+). In all situations I have been recognized for excellence in presentation skills, attracting high student attendance and above all in making the information interesting and easily comprehensible to students. The results of this were reflected in the above-average grades earned by students in my classes.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
Plant physiopathology.
Bioremediation of Heavy Metals.
Biodiversity of Fungal Microbime.
Plant-Microbe Interaction
Abiotic Plant Stress |
Academic Awards and Honors
My name has been enlisted in the 'World Ranking Top 2% Scientists' list, 2020 to 2023.
