Course Goals and Objectives: The course provides an overview of the essentials of earth history, uniformitarianism, the law of superposition, Unconformities, Plate tectonics
stratigraphic units, fossils and fossilization, geologic time, mass extinctions, correlation absolute time and radiometric ages, the history of the earth and evolution of the lithosphere and biosphere through geologic time.
Textbook: Historical Geology: Evolution of Earth and Life through Time" by Reed Wicander and James Monroe
Course Grading: Your grade in the course will be based on the following distribution of work
