B Objectives
1. To understand the basics of skin anatomy.
2. To be familiar with the language of dermatology by learning the primary
and secondary skin lesions and to be able to describe various skin
conditions.
3. To enable medical students to recognize the most common skin diseases
and to manage them.
4. To be familiar with the diagnostic laboratory tests pertinent to dermatology.
5. To help students to formulate decent differential diagnoses of skin diseases.
6. To gain an over view of the skin manifestations of systemic diseases.
7. To be able to deal appropriately with different emergencies in dermatologic
diseases.
C. Course Description

1. Structure and function of the skin: Basic Anatomy and Physiology
2. The Language of Dermatology: Descriptive and Morphologic skills
3. Acne Vulgaris
4. Acne related disorders 5. Psoriasis
6. Other Papulosquamous disorders
7. General principles of Ezema/Dermatitis
8. Atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis and other dermatitis
9. Common Bacterial and Viral infections of the skin
10. Common Fungal infections and Parasitic infestations of the skin
11. Cutaneous manifestations of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
12. Other connective tissue diseases (dermatomyositis/scleroderma)
13. Cutaneous manifestations of systemic diseases
14. Purpura and vasculitis
15. Pigmentary disorders of the skin
16. Hair disorders
17. Blistering disorders (PV, BP)
18. Common skin tumors
19. Dermatologic emergencies
20. Drug eruptions
