An introductory course in research methodology involving the study of foundations, methods and procedures of social and educational research, accompanied by the critical examination of studies made in the social and educational sciences in general, including agricultural and extension education, and rural sociology and family education
:Students will learn
-Formulate, and describe a research problem; conduct a critical review of the literature to develop a conceptual/theoretical -framework for a research study; identify and understand the types of variables and their relationships; identify, formulate research objectives/questions, hypotheses; and identify and operationalize variables involved in a research study.
Understand the conceptual, philosophical, and ethical issues in social research-
- Understand the concepts involved in sampling, instrument development, procedures for establishing validity and reliability of instruments; understand and utilize appropriate data collection procedures for your study and discuss strategies to conduct follow-up of non-respondents
