Biography

Prof. Dr. Saleh Abdulaziz Alfarraj is a Professor in the Department of Zoology at King Saud University (KSU), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He completed his Ph.D. at King Saud University and has received specialized training and research experience in several laboratories and research institutions around the world.

Prof. Alfarraj has more than 22 years of experience in teaching, research, academic supervision, training, and community service. He has also served as Manager of the Training and Community Service Center at King Saud University, contributing to professional development, scientific training, and community engagement.

His teaching activities include courses in Environmental Biology (Zoology 511), Ecosystems and Biodiversity (Zoology 514), and Environment and Biodiversity (Zoology 562). His academic teaching and research activities cover environmental biology, ecology, biodiversity, environmental pollution, environmental impact assessment, aquatic ecosystem health, microbial ecology, and environmental science.

His research interests focus particularly on protozoa and ciliates as bioindicators of environmental quality, soil protozoa in arid and semi-arid ecosystems, water quality, microbial communities, nutrient cycling, biodiversity, and ecosystem health.

Prof. Alfarraj has participated in numerous international and national conferences, scientific meetings, symposiums, workshops, and research activities. He has published more than 100 scientific papers in peer-reviewed national and international journals and has contributed to the academic community through editorial and peer-review activities.

He is actively involved in international scientific collaborations and professional associations related to protozoology, environmental science, biodiversity, ecology, and biological sciences. His academic career reflects a strong commitment to advancing environmental and biological sciences through research, education, international collaboration, training, and community service.
