Objectives:


     In depth knowledge of composition, chemical and physical properties, metabolism, function and alternative of lipids and carbohydrates.


 


Main learning outcomes:


1.       Deep knowledge of composition of lipids and carbohydrates.


2.       Metabolism of cholesterol and significance of lipoproteins.


3.       Metabolism and significance of dietary fiber.


4.       Use of fat and sugar alternative in food industry.

Grading:


·         Projects: 40%


·         Midterm exam: 20%
