IE 556 Design and Analysis of Manufacturing Systems

Course Description: Design and analysis of manufacturing systems. Emphasis is placed on development of models of different design issues of manufacturing systems such as serial production lines, flexible manufacturing systems, cellular manufacturing systems, material handling systems, and storage systems.
 
Course Objectives:  Development of modeling, analysis and design skills as applicable to manufacturing systems. Students should have a detailed understanding of manufacturing system configurations and how to apply analysis techniques to select and design those systems. In addition, students should be able to apply the current literature to manufacturing system design problems.
