Bacterial infection mechanisms (MBIO 522)

In this course, we will examine the mechanism of bacterial infection, the methods of biochemical diagnosis and how to control infection.

Course Main Objective(s):

To demonstrate advanced knowledge and understanding the mechanism of bacterial pathogenesis and virulence factors. To educate the students the basics of laboratory diagnosis of infectious diseases caused by bacteria. Students will provide them with an overview of major scientific research, to provide expertise in understanding, presenting and critiquing scientific findings and providing expertise in writing research proposals.
