نبذة تعريفية / مختصر السيرة الذاتية

Dr. Gharbi is an associate professor of operations research at Industrial Engineering Department, College of Engineering, King Saud University. He holds a University Habilitation in Management Science (High Institute of Management, University of Tunis), Ph.D. in Management Science (High Institute of Management of Tunis, Tunisia), a Master in Operations Research (High Institute of Management of Tunis, Tunisia), and a B.Sc. in Mathematics (Faculty of Science of Tunis, Tunisia).

Before joining KSU, Dr. Gharbi was occupying an associate professor position of Quantitative Methods in the Department of Applied Mathematics of the High Institute of Computer Science (University of Tunis). He has taught at different universities and has worked with several faculty teams on various undergraduate and graduate courses in Operations Research and Mathematics.

Dr. Gharbi's research interests focus on the design, implementation, and analysis of optimization algorithms for hard combinatorial problems with applications on machine scheduling and bin packing. He has conducted his research within the Combinatorial Optimization Research Group – ROI at the Polytechnic School of Tunisia.

He has attended various specialized international conferences and has published several papers in prestigious international journals including Computers and Operations Research, Operations Research Letters, Discrete Applied Mathematics, Annals of Operations Research, Mathematical Methods of Operations Research, and Journal of Scheduling. He has refereed many papers for well-known international journals such as European Journal of Operational Research or Journal of the Operational Research Society.
