OPER 441 Modelling and Simulation

The course is intended to provide the student with knowledge on Simulation Technique and its applications. Focus is given on Discrete event simulation with simple application. Student will be able to generate random numbers for continuous and discrete random variables using different methods: inverse transform method, acceptance/ rejection, convolution. In addition, the student will be able to generate random numbers from special case distribution. The course covers modeling some simple applications in Excel Sheets using: Built-in Functions, Simulations for Call Center, Simple Waiting Line, Simple Inventory System. The course covers also modeling basic processes in Arena for some applications and how to analyze simulation output
