Course : 491 – DEN (Males and Females)
Title : General Anaesthesia, Sedation for Dental Surgery and Advanced Cardiac Life Support
Duration : 1-0-0 (Part of the 10 – Credit Hours)
I. OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE:
1. To introduce to the use of general anaesthesia in dental surgery.
2. To provide knowledge for the students about equipment used in general anaesthesia.
3. To provide knowledge for the students about drugs used on general anaesthesia.
4. The use of general in dental chair for simple surgical procedures.
5. The use of general anaesthesia in theater for major oral surgery.
6. Instructions about sedation in dentistry.
7. To be familiar with monitoring standard in anaesthesia.
II. CONTENTS:
1. General anaesthesia in Dental Chair, intravenous, inhalation, and sedation.
2. Complications of anaesthesia in dental chair.
3. Modified Advanced Cardiac Life Support including the following:
- I.V. Cannulation
- Intubation
- Recognition and modalities of arrhythmias
- Crash Cart
- Mega code
EXAMINATION:
Examination will be incorporated with Course 491 - DEN
