Prof. Salvatore Sciacca holds a degree in Chemistry, a degree in Medicine and a medical specialization in Public Health. Prof. Salvatore Sciacca’s primary research focuses on the environmental and behavioural risk factors and their impact on the morbidity and mortality due to the leading non-communicable diseases, such as cancer. His main research explores topics related to environmental and food hygiene, including the issue of micro-pollutants and their presence and concentration in the air, water and soil, and in agricultural products. His recent research interests include the evidence synthesis on how individual food groups relate to risk of chronic diseases, including cancer, cardiovascular and neurodegenerative conditions.
