Course Objectives:
1- Understanding the functions of various power system components.
2- Modeling and analysis of transmission lines and cables.
3- Understanding basic concepts of distribution systems, insulators, cables, grounding systems and system protection.

1- Introduction to Power Systems and Power System Components (3 Lectures).
2- Series Impedance of Transmission Lines (5 Lectures).
3- Shunt Capacitance of Transmission Lines (2 Lectures).
4- Modeling, Analysis, Performance and Reactive Compensation of Transmission Lines (6 Lectures).
5- Underground Cables (5 Lectures).
6- Insulators (4 Lectures).
7- Modelling of Power System Components (2 Lectures)
8- Per Unit Calculations (5 Lectures)
9- Distribution Systems (4 Lectures).

Attendance Policy:
Attendance will be taken at every lecture. Students with less than 75% attendance will be forbidden from entering the final exam.
