نبذة تعريفية / مختصر السيرة الذاتية

Abdulaziz Assaifan is an assistant professor at the biomedical technology department, he previously was an assistant research professor at King Abdullah Institute for Nanotechnology for 2 years after completing an 18 months postdoctoral fellowship at the college of engineering, King Saud University. Abdulaziz obtained his BEng in Electronic Engineering and Nanotechnology from Swansea University, UK in 2013 with 1st class honours and was awarded the Top Engineering Student Award across all disciplines at the college of engineering. He was also awarded the IET Prize and a couple of scholarships during his undergrads. Abdulaziz then pursued an MSc degree in Nanoscience to Nanotechnology from the same department. Then, he was awarded with a PhD degree in Nanotechnology from the same department under the supervision of Kat Seng (Vincent) Teng, Jonathan S. Lloyd and Davide Deganello. Since then, Abdulaziz research is focused on developing low-cost nano/biosensors for the direct detection of diseases. He also works in different environmental applications. Abdulaziz has so far published more than 30 articles in highly reputable journals and supervised 10s of postgraduate students in biosensing research. He received funding from King Salman Centre for Disability Research and Ministry of Education. He is currently also working as a consultant for a private medical company.
