Consecutive Interpretation (1)
- Week 1 & Week 2
Students are introduced to techniques of consecutive interpretation.
They are given a list of guiding and aiding symbols that will help them in their note taking. They are taught how to focus on content and main ideas rather than form and minute irrelevant details.

Week 3 till the end of the Semester
From week three and onwards, students start practicing. Each class they translate from English into Arabic and vice versa. The main focus is on the following axes:
- Latest political events on both the Arab and International arenas
such as: Lebanon crisis, Iran nuclear program, the Israeli – Palestinian conflict, the Turkish – Kurdish clashes, Darfur problem, etc…
- Summits and Conferences: OPEC summit, GCC summit, etc.
- Outbreaking epidemics such as: bird flu, AIDS, etc…
- Natural disasters such as: fires, hurricane, cyclone, tornados, etc…
- Economic Topics such as: oil prices, stock markets, economic fluctuation, inflation, GGC Monetary Union, economic cooperation, etc…
