Brief Biography
I finished my BS (Ingenieur d'etat) with distinction in Electrical Engineering (Genie Electrique) from INELEC, Algeria; both my MS and Ph.D in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnic University, New York.
I started my academic carrier with INELEC, Algeria, then Polytechnic University, New York, then Hunter College, New York, then New York City Technical College, and finally, I joined King Saud University, where I am currently working as a full Professor with the Department of Computer Engineering.
I conducted research on funded projects with GTE Labs and Bell Labs (both in the US), involving the modeling of multimedia traffic and the integration of voice and data traffic. Also, I had many consultations with local as well as international companies and organizations in various areas of education, networking, and communication.
My main areas of interest are in:
- performance analysis, management and administration of Computer Networks, both wired and wireless;
- design and analysis of techniques for the provision of QoS for multimedia traffic over various wired and wireless networks;
- queueing modeling and analysis of computer network systems;
- mathematical modeling of multimedia traffic.
I am:
- IEEE senior member.
- member of Ph.D program college committee.
- on the editorial board of the CCIS Journal.
