نبذة تعريفية / مختصر السيرة الذاتية

  • أستاذ الأمن السيبراني المساعد بقسم هندسة الحاسب بكلية علوم الحاسب والمعلومات
  • حاصل على جائزة أفضل بحث تطبيقي في الأمن السيبراني من جامعة نيويورك لعام 2020م عن منطقة الشرق الأوسط و شمال أفريقيا ضمن مسابقة CSAW’20، كما درست أبحاثه في جامعات عالمية كجامعة تكساس بمدينة دالاس.
  • يملك خبرة تفوق العشر سنوات في مجال التقنية  والأمن السيبراني عمل خلالها مستشارا في القطاع العام والخاص، قام خلالها بتطوير تقنيات آلية لحماية الأنظمة والبرمجيات من الهجمات والثغرات، كما عمل مجال الحوكمة وتقييم المخاطر والالتزام.
  • حاصل على درجة البكالوريوس مع مرتبة الشرف في الهندسة الكهربائية من جامعة الملك سعود، ودرجة الماجستير في الهندسة الكهربائية وعلوم الحاسب من جامعة نورثويسترن، ودرجةالدكتوراه في هندسة الكهرباء والحاسب من جامعة بوردو الأمريكية.

 

 

- A cybersecurity researcher and an assistant professor at the College of Computer and Information Sciences (CCIS) King Saud University.

- Recipient (ranked 1st) of the CSAW'20 best applied research paper award in cybersecurity for the MENA region.

 - More than ten years of experience in cybersecurity and technology. Worked as an advisor both in the public and private sectors.

 

- A main contributor in developing flexible policies and procedures for a successful transition affecting the entire organization (i.e., more than 60,000 individuals).

 

- Published at top-tier cybersecurity conferences such as the Internet Society Network and Distributed System Security Symposium (NDSS), USENIX Security, and IEEE Security and Privacy  (Oakland). Some of my papers are taught at world class institutions such as the University of Texas at Dallas.

- Received a B.S. degree from the Electrical Engineering department at King Saud University (Honors), a M.S. degree from the Electrical Engineering & Computer Science  (EECS, now ECE) department at Northwestern University (Honors), and a Ph.D degree from the Electrical & Computer Engineering department at Purdue University -- West Lafayette. My thesis title was "Internet of Things Systems Security: Benchmarking and Protection".

 

Interests: Cybersecurity, software security, system security, application security, reverse engineering, memory corruption attacks (exploits) and defenses, IoT security, embedded security.
