About Experience: 
This research unit is exploring different Cellular and Molecular pathways involved in the progression & treatment of Diabetic Retinopathy. The research unit is functional under the flagship of Dr Nasser Al-Rashid Research Chair Programme in Ophthalmology at King Abdul Aziz Hospital of the King Saud University. Here, I support scientists in rodent model and wet lab. I spend my major time in molecular biology techniques like Western Blotting, ELISA, Zymography, Immuno histochemistry and cryo sectioning. I maintain and facilitate a regular flow of diabetic rats retinae utilized to analyzed different biomarkers in our ongoing research projects. I teach and train medical final year graduate students for research activities. I am involved in lab administration, purchase, manuscript drafts and some invited editorial boards.

About Experience: 
This research department was equipped with Experimental Animal Facility, Rodents Neurobehavioral & Pharmacology, Biochemical and Histopathological studies facility. I was involved in many areas of the center as follows; Rodents Care & Handling, Drug Administration & General Surgical Procedures. Specialized Surgical Procedures in rodents, like stereotaxic micro surgery to develop 6-OHDA induced Parkinson model. Behavioral Studies for neurological models. Biochemical estimations and assays. Histological studies Experimental rodent Models: 1- Harmaline induced model of tremors in rats & extracting brain Stem for biochemical analysis for the monoamines (5-HT & HIAA). 2- IDPN induced Dyskinesia model of Rat, to study behavioral, histopathological and biochemical changes in the different regions of rat brain viz; Cerebrum, Cerebellum, Brain Stem, Olfactory Lobe, Striatum and Hippocampus. 3- MPTP induced Parkinsonism in C-57 mice model and analysis of monoamines in the forebrain. 4- 6-OHDA unilateral lesion model of Parkinsonism in Sprague Dawley Rats. 5- Streptozotocin induced Diabetic model of rats. Epidemiology and Clinical Research: Epidemiological studies for the “Spinal Trauma in Saudi Arabia-A National Study” the project from KACST. For this epidemiological data collection I have worked with more than 15 referral hospitals in different regions & different cities of the KSA. Epidemiology of “Periodontal complications with Saudi Diabetic patients” the project from KACST. Epidemiology of dermatological manifestations in Kidney Transplanted Patients. Epidemiological data collection for Systemic Lupus Erythematous (SLE).
