Dr. Mohammad Iqbal Khan Is A Professor Of Structural Engineering, At The Department Of Civil Engineering And Managing Director Of The Center Of Excellence For Concrete Research And Testing At King Saud University, Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia (KSA). He Is An Adjunct Professor Of Structural Engineering, At The Department Of Civil At Missouri University Of Science And Technology, Rolla, USA.
He Was Formerly An Assistant Professor At The Department Of Civil Engineering, University Of Nottingham, UK. He Received His Ph.D. From The University Of Sheffield, UK In 1999. He Has Vast Teaching And Research Experience At Highly Reputed Universities. During His Career, He Taught More Than A Dozen Different Undergraduate And Graduate Courses On Subjects Related To Structural Engineering. He Has Vast Experience In Course And Curriculum Development In A Wide Spectrum Of Civil Engineering. He Is Actively Involved In The Development And Accreditation Of Undergraduate And Graduate Programs And Has Been Actively Involved In Developing A Strategic Plan For Engineering And Its Implementation.
Dr. Khan Is Actively Engaged In Research In Areas Related To Materials And Structural Engineering. His Primary Research Interests Are Developing Blast And Impact-Resistant Materials; Structural Behavior Of Concrete-Filled Tubes; Fiber-Reinforced Concrete Structures; Cement-Based And Polymer-Based Fiber-Reinforced Composites; Nano- And Micro-Mechanics Of Composite Materials; Sustainability And Environmental Impact; Self-Compacting Concrete; Prediction Modeling; Application Of Artificial Intelligence. He Is Listed In The Top 2% Of Scientists In The World In Both The Life-Long Citation Impact Of His Work And The Citation Impact Of His Work For A Single Calendar Year Continuously Since 2019, By Stanford University, USA.
He Has Served As Principal Investigator/Co-Investigator On Numerous Research Projects Locally And Internationally. He Has Carried Out Numerous Concrete Materials/Structure Industry Research And Consultancy Projects, In The UK And The KSA. He Successfully Completed Several International Collaborative Research Projects With The USA, Germany, Canada, And The UK.
Dr. Khan Has Published Over 300 Technical Papers, Holds 27 Patents, Edited/Co-Edited 7 Volumes, Authored/Co-Authored 2 Books, And Supervised Numerous MSc And Ph.D. Theses. He Conducted Numerous MSc And Ph.D. Thesis Oral Examinations Including Two Jury Oral Examinations At The University Of Bahrain And The University Of Sherbrooke, Canada. He Is The Recipient Of 4 Gold And 2 Silver Medals For His Inventions At The International Level And The Recipient Of 8 Excellence And Distinguished Awards. He Serves As Editor/Associate Editor Of 6 International Journals. He Has Delivered Over 30 Invited Lectures/Seminars, And Over 25 Conference Lectures In Various Countries Including The USA, UK, Canada, Japan, Germany, France, Singapore, Malaysia, The Netherlands, Hong Kong, And China. He Has Served Over 20 International Conferences As A Technical Committee Member And Is A Regular Reviewer For Over 15 Highly Reputed International Journals. He Is A Member Of Numerous International Professional Bodies Including ACI, ASCE, And ICT. He Is An Approved Examiner For American Concrete Institute (ACI) Certification Programs And Conducted Numerous Certification Programs For Practicing Engineers.
He Served As A Member Of Numerous National-Level Committees, Including The Committee For Developing Highly Competitive Engineering Colleges, A Member Of The Engineering Research Team To Develop An Academic Framework For Engineering Education, A Committee For Qualifying Exit Exams, And Fundamental Engineering (FE) Exams In Saudi Arabia. He Was A Committee Member For Developing Professional Engineering (PE) Exams For Engineers In Saudi Arabia. Dr. Khan Has Authored/Co-Authored Numerous Academic Instruction Manuals For Engineering Graduate Exit Exams, Qualifying FE Exams, And Qualifying PE Exams In Saudi Arabia. He Developed Engineering Standards And Published Accreditation Related Research Papers. He Served As ABET And NCAAA Consultant For Several Universities In Saudi Arabia. Over The Years, Dr. Khan Has Been A Member/Chair Of NCAAA Reviewer Panels For Institutional And Program Accreditation In Saudi Arabia. As An ABET Program Evaluator, Dr. Khan Conducted Numerous Program Evaluations In US Universities.
