Dear Students:
The links below lead to resources to extend your knowledge and Widen your horizon to have an appreciation of the importance of the codes of ethics in general and the codes of ethics in computing in particular. Only selected parts of the slides will be covered. This is because the rest may not be consistent with the objectives of the course and/or may not be of much interest locally, and/or the time does not allow. The required slides will be clearly marked for you in class. Make sure that you buy the textbooks and read them. Some links lead to resources discussing the codes of ethics for software engineers as approved by the ACM and IEEE. It will be discussed in class.
As mentioned to you in class, the survey you will be conducting as a group is the focus of the course as it closely touches upon your society. Still much of the information in the accompanied resources will be discussed and should prove useful and helpful to you. It should enlighten your views of ethics and strengthen your desire for a good and moral practice in your profession.
