The course addresses topics such as:

·        What is Computer Ethics?

·        Crime, Abuse, and Hacker Ethics.

·        Ownership of Computer Software.

·        Privacy and Databases.

·        Computers and Risk.

·        Liability, Professional Responsibility, and Codes.

·        Moral Responsibility and Legal Liability.

·        Professional Responsibility and Codes.

CSC305 Course Objectives:

  • Learn about computing ethics
  • In-depth study of  various social topics pertaining to IT.
  • Perform surveys in a systematic fashion for the selected topics using a specific methodology.
  • Be able to analyze information resources
  • Be able to read several articles and search for ideas,
  • Write a report of two parts: Literature review and analysis of survey results.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the selected topic and survey through presentations and discussions.
