وصف مقرر دراسي

 اهداف المقرر:

يهدف المقرر الي توسيع معرفة الطالب في فهم نظريات التصميم المختلفة للاجسام الثلاثية الابعاد, والابداع في عمل المجسمات باستخدام الخامات المختلفة مثل الخشب والورق المقوي لزيادة مقدرتة علي التخيل وتاثير ماتم تصميمة علي الفراغ والفهم العميق للتاثير البصري الناتج. ألمقرر يهدف الي تدريب الطالب ورفع القدرة النقدية لة باستخدام النظريات المعمارية المنظمة في التصميم ذو الثلاثي الابعاد.

وصف المقرر:

-          يتم تعريف الطالب بمفاهيم اسس التصميم للاشكال ثلاثية الابعاد والمتداولة معماريا والتدريب عليها داخل الاستوديو مثل المستويات المتتالية، الشبكة الجدارية، المنشور، التكرار، الاشكال المتعددة، الاسطح، المستويات المثلثية، الاطارات الخطية، الاطارات المستوية، خطوط التوصيل. بالاضافة الي عمل المجسمات اللازمة واخراجها كتطبيق علي كل نظرية.

-          في نهاية دراسة النظريات السابقة، والتدريب عليها، يقسم الطلاب الي مجموعات صغيرة تتناول المباني المعمارية المتواجدة ونقدها والتحدث عنها تبعا لما تعلمه حتي يتم استيعابة لفائدة مادرسة علي زيادة قدرتة علي التحليل والتفكير كمعماري لة القدرة علي التذوق الفني.

There is required to finish the basic design-1 course (ARCH 130) to attend the basic design-2 course.

Description of the course:

Basic design course puts emphasis on the visual values of architecture. The issue of aesthetics in architecture basically concerns with the philosophical difference between the two sentences: "spaces in architecture" and "Architecture in the spaces". Every three-dimensional composition deals with the placement of objects in spaces, either outdoor or indoor, or deals with the creation and division of spaces. Any architectural work, which has liveable spaces and related forms, needs to have several qualities. Architecture is actually the art of form/space arrangement in a manner that considers these qualities. So, this is the time for the freshmen students of architecture to clearly understand this meaning.

The basic design-2 course in the syllabus of King Saud University is so formed that students are exposed to different concepts, materials and processes through different exercises and assignments which give them a wide latitude to experiment analytically and intuitively. These assignments are supposed to motivate the students to think, ask questions, set standards, and aspire innovation. There are different types of assignments which are very clearly stated in terms of the following:

-  Actual exercise

-  Retrospective analysis

In the basic design course, students are exposed to the basic vocabularies of visual perception, theoretical concepts and visual criticism. The students are supplied with information on which a feedback is expected. This information is as follows:

-  Conceptual information

-  Technical information

-  Aesthetic information 

  Course Objectives:

Basic design assignments include a range of topics which encompass the following objectives:

-   To increase student’s visual perception and develop student’s sensitivities to spatial relationships.

-  To help to recognize and differentiate psychological and emotional responses to visual products.

-  To help the student to develop an innate understanding of visual concepts.

-  To encourage the student to interact meaningfully and share ideas with fellow students and not merely to compete with them.

All the previous objectives based on three  dimensional designs.

Students are expected to demonstrate their learning by:

-  Establishing examples which represent basic elements.

-  Designing and analysing different shapes of spaces.

-  Breaking up identified spaces with respect to spatial aesthetics.

-  Creating abstract and semi-abstract forms and spaces. 

-  Creating forms that articulate the values of rhythm and repetition.
