CEN543: (Masters): Assignment 2 is posted. Midterm exam 1 is on the second week after Hajj. vacation.

CEN645: (Ph.D.):  Prepare lecture notes on speech enhancement. The lecture notes should be of around 40 power point slides.

[October, 2009] Completion of Project:   Project titled 'Environment Detection for Digital Audio Forensic' sponsered by the Center of Excellence for Information Assurance (CoEIA), KSU is successfully completed.

[September, 2009] 2 Conference Papers Accepted: Ghulam Muhammad, Yousef A. Alotaibi, and Mohammad Nurul Huda, 'Automatic speech recognition for Bangla digits,' is accepted in The 11th International Conference on Computer and Information Technology, [IEEE Xplore], Dhaka, Bangladesh. Another paper co-authoring Ghulam Muhammad is also accepted at the same conference. (acceptance rate 31.2%)

[September, 2009] Conference Paper Accepted: Ghulam Muhammad and Khalid Alghathbar, 'Environment recognition from audio using MPEG-7 features,' is accepted in The 4th International Conference on Embedded and Multimedia Computing (EM-Com09), [IEEE Xplore], Jeju, Korea. 

[August, 2009] Conference Paper Accepted: Ghulam Muhammad, Mubarak O. Al-Qahtani, and Khalid Alghathbar, 'Environment recognition for digital audio forensics using MPEG-7 features and separate modeling technique,' is accepted in The 10th International Workshop on Information Security Application (WISA09). Busan, Korea. 

[April 27, 2009] Journal Paper Accepted: 'Study on Pharyngeal and Uvular Consonants in Foreign Accented Arabic for ASR' authored by Yousef Ajami Alotaibi and Ghulam Muhammad is accepted in Computer Speech and Language, Elsevier.

[April, 2009] Conference Paper Accepted: 'Noise Effect of Saudi Accented Arabic Alphadigit in Automatic Speech Recognition' authored by Yousef Ajami Alotaibi, Khondaker Abdullah-Al-Mamun, Ghulam Muhammad is accepted in The 2009 International Conference on Image Processing, Computer Vision, and Pattern Recognition (IPCV'09: July 13-16, 2009, Las Vegas, USA).

[March 10, 2009] Paper Presented at 2nd NITS (National IT Symposium): 'Real-time pitch extraction in noisy environments' was presented at 2nd NITS by Dr. Ghulam Muhammad on March 10, 2009 at Hotel Intercontinental, Riyadh.

[March 05, 2009] Journal Paper Accepted : Paper titled 'Acoustic Quality Normalization for Robust Automatic Speech Recognition'  has been accepted for publication in the International Journal on Speech Technology, Springer. Ghulam Muhammad is the single author of this paper. DOI: 10.1007/s10772-009-9024-x.

[February 13, 2009] Project Proposal Signed:   Project titled 'Environment Detection for Digital Audio Forensic' has been signed and counter signed by the Center of Excellence for Information Assurance (CoEIA), KSU, and Dr. Ghulam Muhammad.

[October 10, 2008] Speech Processing Group formed. The members are Dr. Mansour AL-Sulaiman, Dr. Yousef A. Alotaibi, Dr. Ghulam Muhammad, Mr. Bencherif, and Mr. Awais Mahmood. Important developments will be posted later.
