From the President of Tanta University

 

 

 

 

The development of Quality Assurance and Accreditation system is one of the key pillars of the national strategy for the education reform in Egypt. The foundation of the total quality management centre (QMC) of Tanta University was one of the implementation activities of the TU_QMC project.

 

I hope to gain the confidence of local, national and international community in our graduates. The ongoing activities made by members of the TU_QMC are greatly appreciated. Their endless effort to disseminate the quality culture and academic standards among all staff at the University has a great impact on improvement of medical education.

 

 

I am pleased that the quality team of the Faculty of Nursing with the help and supervision of TU_QMC had finished its self study, course and program specifications since 6 months and now they've their first annual faculty report. The current document may represent an addition to the quality models for other faculties of the Universities, and certainly to various Universities.

It is a great enjoyment to participate in the onward of this handbook, which is considered as the first authorized annual faculty report in Tanta University. Therefre, it is mandatory to congratulate the team of the Faculty of Nursing and the team of the total quality management centre in Tanta University, as a part of the implementation activities of B-014-S0 project, for this great attainment.

 

I also, congratulate the top management of Tanta Faculty of Nursing for this success. I hope that this achievement will stimulate other Faculties in Tanta University to carry out the same duty and follow this wonderful model.

From the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing

 

 

 

 

 

The ongoing activities made by members of the TU_QAC are greatly appreciated. Their endless effort to disseminate the quality culture and academic standards among all staff at the Faculty of Nursing has a great impact on improvement of medical education. It is a great pleasure to write this foreword for this handbook containing the annual faculty report.

 

I appreciate truly the efforts of TU_QMC project team in their help of the quality team of the faculty of nursing. I'd like to thank Prof. Dr. Mohamed Nabih El Gharib, the project manager for his good leadership and guidance of the team. Also, I'd like to thank Dr. Magdy Balaha, the coordinator of the team for his persistent effort and help for the faculty team to finish this work.

 

The current document may represent an addition to the program models for other Faculties of Nursing at all Egyptian Universities, and certainly to various Faculties at Tanta University. The production of this handbook is a great achievement of QAC at Tanta Faculty of Nursing and every one involved in its development is to be congratulated.

FOREWORD

From the Co ordinate of the team of the Faculty of Nursing

 

 

 

The establishment of a sustainable Quality Assurance (QA) at the Faculty of Nursing, Tanta University is one of the landmarks in the history of the Faculty of Nursing. It is one of the main outcomes of the project “Total quality management centre in Tanta University, TU_QMC”, which belongs to the HEEPF.

 

It is with great pleasure that I witness the ongoing efforts made by the implementation team of the TU_QMC project, and the efforts of the task force group of the Nursing Faculty, that resulted in the development of the first annual faculty report in Tanta University.

 

Despite we did not finish all course reports or program report, as we started the implementation in March 2006, I'd like to congratulate all members of the task force group of the Faculty of Nursing and all other staff, who worked so diligently in a collaborative effort to produce this outstanding Product, the annual faculty report. I truly appreciate their serious approach, commitments and dedication to improve the nursing education and practice.

 

I hope all the points in the action plan will be dealt with according to its proposed time table. Both the staff and students will be expected to complete a course report at the end of the course. These reports will highlight points of weakness and strengths in the content and implementation of current curriculum. Lastly, the next year annual faculty report should document further improvement.
