Tools for Nursing Leaders

 

     Nursing managers have complex operational roles.  In a survey of high-performing nurse managers, the Health Care Advisory Board identified twelve competencies, including:

As a nursing manager you can take advantage of several tools to assist with the orientation of staff.  You will find that monthly meetings of the Manager's Council provide education, peer support and mentoring.  You can also look to Human Resources to provide many training opportunities for you and your staff.
