Introduction to the basic principle of ionizing radiations and their uses in medicine, industry, science, and environmental studies. Radioactive decay processes, energy deposition and dose calculations are included in the course. The basics of radiation protection and detector technology will be covered; define various terms related to radiation; basic principle of ionizing radiation and its interaction with matter, calculate different types of radiation doses, protecting from radiation, distinguish different types of radiation detectors, Radioactivity decay law, Types of radiation decay processes, Radiation terminology and units , Interaction of radiation with matter, Radiation doses and their calculations, Radiation biological effect, Principle of radiation protection, Radiation detectors and their operations.
