CE 640: Advanced Wastewater Treatment and Reuse

The course introduces fundamentals of wastewater treatment, sources of water for reuse, potential reuse applications, and criteria for each type of reuse application. It provides theoretical and practical understanding of various advanced wastewater treatment processes used in reclamation facilities for high standers water quality for reuse. Advanced technologies include nitrification, denitrification and phosphorus removal, membrane processes in wastewater, advanced oxidation processes, membrane bioreactors, adsorption, and ion exchange. Current advanced wastewater treatment technologies. Review of standards and environmental impacts for wastewater reuse
