Bio
Dr. Mohd Khan graduated and doctorate degree (PH.D) from Aligarh Muslim University, INDIA. After the completion of Ph.D (2010). He was post doctorate fellow at the university of Medicine and Dentistry, New Jersey (UMDNJ), U.S.A before Joining the King Saud University in (2012). The main area of research are Protein misfolding involved in neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's and Parkinsons. In-vitro protein folding and unfolding in association with their cytoxicity under cellular envirnoment is an another asset to their expertise. Also, the toxicity assays in cell culture for various drugs, synthetic compound, plant extract and nano-particles are underway.
CV Text

Over 10 years of laboratory experience in protein misfolding, aggregation and amyloid studies implicated in neurodegenerative diseases. Post-translation modification like glycation induced protein aggregation, oxidation and other conformational changes during the process has been exploited during my academic career. Characterization of advanced glycation end-products (AGEs) and their inhibition studies are routine part of our expertise. Recently, we are exploring signaling pathway of AGEs in cellular models and their co-relation with other diseases. Diabetes induced cancer progression are also getting insight into our career. Binding studies of various ligands to proteins and their thermodynamics has been studied extensively using spectroscopy, cell culture, signaling, molecular docking and simulation, CD, ITC, DLS and TEM techniques.
