Biography

Dr. Maha is an associate professor of pharmacogenomics at the clinical pharmacy department, college of pharmacy, King Saud University. She has a Master’s degree in clinical pharmacy from King Saud University and eventually earned her Ph.D. in pharmacogenomics from the University of Brighton, U.K. Her dissertation entitled “Association of Gene Polymorphisms in Thyroid Function-related Genes with Differentiated Thyroid Cancer Risk and Post Thyroidectomy L-Thyroxine Suppressive Dose Requirements” was primarily addressed to personalized medicine, population genetics, association studies and complex disorders. Dr. Maha was assigned deputy chair of the clinical pharmacy department at the college of pharmacy at King Saud University from 2015-2017. Currently, she is the assistant of the vice rector for projects for girls at King Saud University.  Through with scientists at King Faisal research center as a visiting research associate in the genetics department, Dr. Maha has extended her previous work in order to address analysis and processing of genetic factors for patients setting that are needed to diagnose, treat, prevent and cure many illnesses. Dr. Maha’s primary research interests are genetics and pharmacogenomics, family and population genetics; Personalized medicine; Mendelian diseases; Genome sequencing and annotation; and association studies in cardiovascular disease, cancers and endocrinology.  Dr. Maha received many awards from International and local conferences. Currently, she is supervising two Ph.D. students at the University College of London and New Castle University. In addition, she is supervising Master and PharmD students at King Saud University and Riyadh Alelm University.
