Dr. Hany Al-Ansary is a professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at King Saud University. He received his PhD degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2004. He is currently involved in a number of research projects in solar thermal energy and solar desalination. His work resulted in 23 patents and more than 60 journal and conference papers. He also received international innovation awards in the fields of desalination and solar energy. He was KSU’s principal investigator in a SunShot award funded by the US Department of Energy, and he is currently KSU's principal investigator in a Generation 3 CSP project also funded by the US Department of Energy titled "Generation 3 Particle Pilot Plant". He was also the leader of a KSU technical team collaborating with the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) for transferring multiple effect distillation (MED) technology and developing a Saudi national design guide for MED plants.
