Bio
Dr. Islam M. Saadeldin is an Associate Professor at King Saud University, Saudi Arabia and adjunct associate professor at Zagazig University, Egypt. He has received his Ph.D. degree from Seoul National University, South Korea in 2012. He was a visiting scholar at Niigata University, Japan (2008), as well as served as a post-doc fellow at Seoul National University, South Korea (2013-2014). He has been awarded the Asian Universities Alliance (AUA) Scholar Award and a visiting professorship to Seoul National University, South Korea in 2019. He has a patent of invention (The Korean Intellectual Property Office) regarding embryo transgenesis through piggybac transposons. He authored more than 80 SCI/SCIE papers covering the fields of advanced reproductive biotechnology such as somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT), therapeutic cloning, genome editing, transgenesis, assisted reproductive techniques (ARTs), adult stem cells, and embryonic stem cells, as well as elucidating the roles of exosomes in pathophysiology and embryonic-maternal crosstalk. In addition, he focuses on comparative cellular defense against extreme hyperthermia, and the relation with cellular anastasis, and cellular resilience. He serves as an Editorial board of journals “Journal of Animal Reproduction & Biotechnology”, “Cloning and Transgenesis”, “Reproductive Medicine International”, and an associate editor for “The Open Stem Cell journal”. He has served as referee for a number of International journals, including Reproduction, Scientific Reports, Journal of Pineal Research, Theriogenology, Reproductive Biology, and Molecular Reproduction and Development.
