PG Orthodontic Clinics

This clinical course represents the first of a series of similar courses that spread over all the three years of the graduate studies. They are designed to train the students in clinical diagnostic procedures of orthodontics, which includes collection and analysis of data base, list of problems, solution of each of the problems according to priority order, objectives of treatment and treatment mechanics.The students will be trained in taking history, impressions, intra and extraoral radiographs, trimming and polishing of study models, taking photographs, cephalographs and assessment of physical maturation status. Each case will be presented by the student to colleagues and supervisors.

Each student will be given a variety of cases of malocclusion for treatment requiring growth guidance, extractions and no extractions, extraoral traction, functional and removable appliance and treatment with edgewise technique under supervision. In addition, the students will treat limited number of surgical orthodontic cases, cleft lip and cleft palate cases and T.M.J. dysfunction cases, under the supervision of the respective specialties.
