Nuclear Physics Lab (PHY 492)

In this course, student will interact with various nuclear instruments and detectors to study nuclear radiation emitted by unstable isotopes.
Studying Geiger Counter, using statistical methods in nuclear experiments, studying gamma spectrum of different isotopes using both of Multi and single channel analyzer( SCA and MCA) , studying beta spectrum using MCA and a magnetic field, studying alpha spectrum, studying Compton scattering, determining the half life of an unstable isotope and determining the absorption coefficient of an absorber material.
